Tremain Cooper, Pharm.D., BCACP, 340B ACE
Tremain Cooper, Pharm.D., BCACP, 340B ACE is a Pharmacist-In-Charge at the Mecklenburg County Health Department and pharmacist for CVS Pharmacy in Charlotte, NC. He is a 2007 graduate of the University of South Carolina-Columbia School of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
With 11 years of experience as an active community pharmacist in good standing, Dr. Cooper is licensed to practice pharmacy in North Carolina and South Carolina. In 2013, he successfully earned the highly regarded Board Certification in Ambulatory Care from the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties and holds additional certifications in Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery from American Pharmacists Association Immunization Program – CVS Pharmacy, Delivering Medication Therapy Management from South Carolina Pharmacy Association, CPR Certification from the American Heart Association, and herbalist specializing in widsom traditions, botany, phytochemistry, and making herbal products from Herbal Academy, International School of Arts and Sciences. In 2018, he completed the Apexus Advanced 340B Operations Certificate program. As a pharmacy degree candidate, he completed a seminar about the role of the drug Bidil® in the treatment of congestive heart failure in black patients.
Dr. Cooper is heavily vested in the pharmacy profession, as he is an affiliate of the American Pharmacists Association, as well as serves on the Executive Board and as President (2016-2018) for the Charlotte Medical Dental Pharmaceutical Society. He has previous professional involvement with American College of Clinical Pharmacy, National Community Pharmacists Association, North Carolina Association of Pharmacists, South Carolina Pharmacy Association, and Congaree Medical Dental Pharmaceutical Association.
The owner of Dr. Tremain Cooper, LLC, a venture devoted to bridging the gap between community integrity and medication management, Dr. Cooper helps patients achieve optimal health through medication stewardship and medication therapy recommendations in an ambulatory care setting for treating common ailments and diseases. Outside of physicians, he is often the first and last point-of-contact for patients seeking medication direction. Considered the voice of medication safety, his work provides access to top notch, proven evidence-based treatment strategies, methods, and education that advances medication therapy management services leading to healthy lifestyles. Dr. Cooper offers patient consultation services that consists of medication management and recommendations that lead to better understanding of medications to achieve optimal results.
A United States Army veteran, Dr. Cooper has also served as an active member of his community through volunteering with the Urban League of Central Carolinas, The Park Church Medical Mission Team, The Park Church Men’s Mission Team, South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice, and in the ICU at CMC-Main. Dr. Cooper was nominated and selected as part of the Black Enterprise Magazine Modern Man Class of 2018.
A native of Columbia, S.C, Dr. Cooper currently resides in Charlotte, N.C. and is the youngest child of his deceased adoptive parents Veronica Paige and Robert Dawkins-Elam, who he credits for his success.
